IASNA's Official Web Launch

March 29, 2008 – The International Association for the Study of the Nude in Art (IASNA) is pleased to announce the official launch of its web site (www.iasna.com).

The nude has had significant prominence in art history and the figure study was a cornerstone of art education and continues to be common practice in art education programs. The nude has been referred to as more than simply a subject of art but rather a form of art.

IASNA was founded on the notion of becoming the most authoritative resource for the development and study of the nude in art by providing a technical and historical resource of artistic information in art work depicting the nude. By serving as a forum for art criticism, education and appreciation, we hope to advance the understanding of the depiction of the nude in art. Our aim is to establish the highest standards in the depiction of the nude by focusing on and calling attention to work we feel has high artistic and/or historic merit.
